Quilting-Coding on Processing

Olivia Payne is writing her thesis on alternative approaches to computational thinking. Her work has a strong focus on traditional craft, i.e. quilting. With Processing, Olivia creates visual patterns that she then prints and turn into beautiful quilts. Some of them look geeky, some of them are more organic.

On February 29 Olivia did a Car Barn Labs session with some fellow CCT students. She offered us some of her Processing code and we plaid with it.


Here are the results:

With them, she then stitched together a quilt that will be part of the II Georgetown Mediafest.
